Sorry I’ve been a little quiet, I’ve been writing songs and being as creative as I can in our little music space here at home and really looking forward to playing a gig again soon 👍🏽.
I have some very exciting news folks – I’ve come back to the original record company Sony Music Australia that started it all with my recording career back in 1995. This a great news and it’s awesome to be working with my good mate Denis Handlin and all the Sony Family again. The press release is below and I have to say isn’t it good to have a reason to smile in these trying times?
Music is a tough business and it will test you at every turn, but to make music your living I reckon is such a privilege and it’s not wasted on me.

TROY CASSAR-DALEY HAS INKED A WORLDWIDE DEAL WITH SONY MUSIC ENTERTAINMENT AUSTRALIA
It’s a full-circle moment for the legend of Australian country music, who first signed to the major in 1995 to launch his record-breaking career.
He first released three studio albums with Sony before moving to Essense Records via EMI Music and eventually settled at the Mushroom-owned Liberation Records (now Bloodlines).
Cassar-Daley has released 10 studio albums throughout his 30 years of making music. His last album, Things I Carry Around, peaked at #5 on the ARIA Albums Chart in 2016.
Sony Music chairman and CEO Denis Handlin described the singer-songwriter as a “tremendous talent” who remains a “trailblazer” in the Australian music industry.
“We are thrilled to have Troy back with the company and the team is excited to work with him as he continues his esteemed musical journey,” Handlin said.
“I love Troy to bits and we cannot wait to help him take his new music to his far-reaching and ever-growing fan base.”
The Sydney-based major label also announced a number of new signings and partnerships earlier this month, including luring Busby Marou away from rival Warner Music.
Cassar-Daley, 51, will release a new studio album early next year and said he is proud to reunite with “dear mate Denis Handlin and the Sony team” for the next chapter of his career.
“The saying full circle gets used quite a bit in our lives but every now and then it rings true for us personally,” Cassar-Daley said. “Denis said ‘welcome back’ and that’s exactly how it feels!”
He has won 37 Golden Guitar awards, four ARIA Awards, three APRA Awards, nine Deadlys, four CMAA Awards, two NIMA Awards and clocked 32 #1 singles during his incredible career.
